Silver and gold treasures are found again and again. Especially silver coins were considered an expression of sovereignty in the first century. At that time, bronze coins could be used to buy bread, whereas a silver coin allowed the purchase of expensive items. Coins were a sign of independence. The inscription on the coins represented aspirations, such as those of rebels. Now an eleven-year-old has found a silver coin that was probably minted in the temple called "Holy Jerusalem." The coin was made of 14 grams of pure silver.
The ancient Hebrew scriptures on the coin indicate that the people were full of longing for the independence of the people of Israel. A united Jewish kingdom was the goal of the yearning. On one side of the coin is a cup and the inscription "Israeli shekel" and "second year", referring to the second year of the revolt (67 to 68 AD).
Huge reserves of silver existed in the temple, and it was probably from these that the coin found was minted. The road where the coin was found connected the City of David with the Temple Mount to the north. Thousands of pilgrims traveled here and there was extensive trade. The rebel coin now found was probably minted by a priest who joined the rebels against the Romans. This makes the coin a rare find, as many coins have been found, but only a few made of silver and dating from the time of the great rebellion.
This coin find shows once again that silver outlasts millennia and preserves values. Especially now at Christmas time, investors should think about this and possibly include silver in their gift idea. If you want to give yourself long-term opportunities, you can also put the shares of companies with good silver projects into your depot. Because if the price of silver rises, the share price will rise even more. However, it should be borne in mind that silver stocks are speculative investments and therefore only for portfolio addition. Examples are MAG Silver and Denarius Silver.
MAG Silver – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3gtXPK7de0I -, well financed, owns promising silver projects in North and South America. The main project is the Juanicipio project in Mexico in the Fresnillo Silver Trend.
Denarius Silver – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QVVXRhMOosI – has in its portfolio the Lomero project in Spain as well as the Guia Antigua project and the Zancudo project in Colombia.
