In a public tender, the City of Kaufbeuren was looking for a reliable partner for the extensive project “Complete setup of an App-V infrastructure as part of the migration to Windows 10”. The exemplary elaboration as well as the future-oriented concept of Raynet convinced the City of Kaufbeuren to place their project in the hands of the software vendor from Paderborn with complementary services.

As part of the migration to the Windows 10 operating system, the City of Kaufbeuren has successfully made the technology transition from VMware ThinApp to Microsoft App-V with Raynet. Raynet’s operating model for software packaging and virtualization, as well as RayPack Studio and RayFlow technologies, were used to effectively implement this extensive task. This combination enables simple but flexible management and operation of projects.

By providing a training tailored to the needs of the City of Kaufbeuren by Raynet’s training and certification center RayAcademy, the employees of the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) department were fully trained both in the use of Microsoft App-V and in the Raynet solutions.

This step was a further milestone in the extensive project and the basis for ensuring that the IT operations of the City of Kaufbeuren, from the core administration to the waterworks and the fire department, will continue in the future.

“Raynet‘s know-how has convinced us all along the line. We are sure to have found in Raynet not only a reliable partner for our Windows 10 project, but also for a future cooperation. Thanks to the multi-stage training concept and the packaging process tailored to our needs, we are now able to manage all specialist applications efficiently and, in a time-saving manner,” says a delighted Stefan Mayer, Group Manager Front-End Infrastructure at the City of Kaufbeuren.
