• Extensive IT infrastructure migrations to the AWS cloud
  • Group-wide modernization of Microsoft Office Productivity Tools at ASK Chemicals
  • Long-term operating and service contracts with Arvato Systems and Amazon Web Services

ASK Chemicals, the well-known German chemicals group and supplier of foundry chemicals, is migrating its existing IT infrastructure to the cloud together with Arvato Systems. In doing so, the latest cloud technologies and the highest security standards will be taken into account.

Last year, Christian Dusek, CIO of ASK Chemicals, had already developed a resilient multi-cloud IT strategy together with experts from Arvato Systems. Now, in the course of this year, all of ASK Chemicals‘ key IT systems will be moved to the global cloud infrastructure of Amazon Web Services (AWS). In addition, ASK Chemicals‘ ability to enable local, regional and global workgroups to work together will be brought up to the latest state of the art with the introduction of Microsoft Office 365.

In order to enable the IT experts at ASK Chemicals to concentrate on IT value-added processes in the direction of their core business, Arvato Systems is taking over the management of the operating systems, the cloud platform and the SAP systems as part of comprehensive Application Managed Services.

In addition, the Arvato Systems Security Operations Center (SOC) ensures a high level of IT security to prevent cybercrime attacks. In the future, all ASK Chemicals‘ IT end devices will be protected against unauthorized access with the support of technologies based on artificial intelligence.

"The development and rapid implementation of a cloud-native IT strategy will enable ASK Chemicals to achieve cost-optimized global IT operations with maximum flexibility and scalability. The combination of AWS Compute Resources and Microsoft Office 365 not only enables us to work more efficiently and improve IT performance, but above all enables us to innovate digitally. The resulting ‚Modern Workplaces‘ create working environments that enable collaboration over physical distances and serve as a driving force for the development of digital business models," says ASK Chemicals CIO Christian Dusek. "The transformation of an IT organization from an ‚on-premises‘ IT world to a multi-cloud native environment is a complex and demanding process. I called in the cloud experts from Arvato Systems early on to participate in Arvato Systems‘ transformation expertise and establish a long-term partnership," Dusek continues.

Thomas Kathöfer, Managing Director of Arvato Systems GmbH, adds: "We offer a comprehensive portfolio of cloud services and, as an IT specialist, we are pleased to be able to contribute our expertise and solutions from working with some of Germany’s most exciting companies to the cooperation with ASK Chemicals. We will always focus on an open and trusting cooperation".
