The lithium-ion battery is still the heart of electric cars, and this will not change in the foreseeable future, according to the experts. Raw materials such as lithium, cobalt, but also nickel, zinc and copper are needed in the automotive industry. But what about hydrogen cars? As recently announced by a well-known Munich-based car manufacturer, series production of a hydrogen car with a fuel cell is due to start in 2028. By then, the necessary infrastructure should also have undergone significant further development. This is because hydrogen is to be part of a climate-neutral energy mix. Fossil fuels are to be saved, particularly in industry, for example in steelworks. Large quantities of platinum are required for electrolysis.
