As part of the harmonisation of its quality management system, trans-o-flex Expressdienst has had its Austrian subsidiary trans-o-flex ThermoMed Austria certified to the ISO 14001 environmental management standard for the first time. The certifier was changed at the same time for the re-certification to the ISO 9001 quality management standard. "We are now standardising the basic quality and environmental management systems 9001 and 14001 for all our subsidiaries via the certification company bsi," says Eugen Günther, Managing Director Sales at trans-o-flex Express and Spokesman of the Management Board at trans-o-flex ThermoMed Austria. "However, we have other quality processes, such as those for the EU GDP, which are fundamental in the pharmaceutical sector, standardised by TÜV Süd."

By standardising its quality management, trans-o-flex is implementing another element of its medium-term plan. "The fact that we now have a single partner for each standard across all of our companies makes the process much simpler," adds Günther. "In addition, the certification of all companies without exception allows us to demonstrate our standardised quality approach across national and regional borders to the outside world." Certification to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, as well as the EU-GDP guidelines for good distribution practice for medicinal products for human use, now applies to trans-o-flex Express, trans-o-flex ThermoMed in Germany and Austria, which specialises in actively temperature-controlled pharmaceutical transport, and the warehousing and contract logistics subsidiary trans-o-flex Logistik-Service.

In addition to these quality management certificates, trans-o-flex companies also hold the AEO (Authorised Economic Operator), Ecovadis (sustainability rating) and TAPA certificates. Günther: "The continuous certification of further locations in accordance with the TAPA safety standard FSR 2023 C is right at the top of our next QM projects."
