While some may be planning their next skiing trip in the coming weeks, others will already be making their arrangements to head to warmer climates. But no matter the destination, the new Opel Astra Sports Tourer Electric is the ideal travel companion for the entire family. It offers plenty of space, flexible and practical solutions for luggage and above all an abundance of locally emissions-free driving pleasure.

With the Astra Sports Tourer Electric, one of the first fully electric compact class estates, you can cover up to 413 kilometres (WLTP1) between charging stops. And for longer distances, Opel offers practical charging accessories. There are also many other tailor-made Opel original accessories with which the battery-electric estate (just like many other models with the Blitz) can be upgraded and thus become even more individual and flexible. The offering ranges from practical transport and carrier systems to flexible comfort solutions and safety equipment for snow and ice.

FlexConnect solutions, cargo compartment shells and carrier systems

The new Astra Sports Tourer Electric is a comfortable and practical family car with plenty of space for luggage. The fully electric estate offers up to 1,553 litres of cargo volume with the rear seats folded down. This means that not only numerous suitcases, but also your beloved four-legged friend can travel comfortably and safely in a voluminous transport box. And with passengers in the second row, up to 516 litres can still be stowed in the boot. There is even room for skis inside the Astra Sports Tourer Electric thanks to the intelligent pass-through option in the rear centre armrest. The cargo compartment tray is also extremely practical. Dirty ski or hiking boots, wet sports equipment and much more can be stored while keeping the luggage compartment clean. With its anti-slip coating and its sturdy edge, it not only protects against dirt and moisture, but also keeps the boot tidy.

The various FlexConnect solutions also contribute to a relaxing, comfortable journey, ensuring tidiness in the passenger compartment and making the journey more entertaining at the same time. Tablet holders or the folding table ensure that passengers in the second row can relax and watch films or play games. Jackets and tops can be hung on hooks and hangers. The FlexConnect attachments can be flexibly attached to the adapter, which is mounted on the headrests of the front seats and removed again in one easy step.

In case additional space is required for the holiday trip, Opel offers a selection of flexible transport and carrier systems for the new Astra Sports Tourer Electric to accommodate sports equipment etc. separately. These include aerodynamically designed Opel roof boxes as well as Thule ski and snowboard racks for up to six pairs of skis or various rear bike racks that can carry up to three bikes2. And if the journey over the mountain pass is covered in snow, Opel has suitable snow chains for the standard 18-inch tyres of the Astra Sports Tourer Electric.

Charging accessories for locally emissions-free holidays

The new Opel Astra Sports Tourer Electric not only offers many practical solutions for luggage – as a locally emissions-free estate, it is also suitable for travelling longer distances. Its electric motor delivers 115 kW/156 hp and a powerful 270 Newton meters of maximum torque, which is fully available from the first tap of the accelerator pedal. Thanks to the 54 kWh lithium-ion battery, which is installed in the underbody to save space, the compact class estate can travel up to 413 kilometres in accordance with WLTP1 between charging stops. And even when the battery-electric travel companion needs recharging, only a short stop is necessary. The electric vehicle can be charged to 80 percent of the battery capacity in around 30 minutes at a 100 kW direct current fast charging station. The fully electric Astra Sports Tourer is equipped as standard with a three-phase 11 kW onboard charger for fast AC charging via a wallbox. Smart and scalable, the eProWallbox, for example, optimises vehicle charging with up to 22 kW charging power. The charging process can be easily controlled and monitored using a variety of functions using a smartphone.

Opel drivers are also perfectly prepared for all eventualities while on the move thanks to the practical charging accessories available. The offer includes the Mode 3 charging cable as well as the Universal Charger with four adapters in the set – the CEE-16 plug (3-phase) for industrial sockets (three-phase current), CEE-32 plug (1-phase) and type- EF plug for household sockets and Type 2 plug for public charging – and matching storage bag. The “all-rounder” when it comes to charging solutions can be connected to almost all country-specific household and industrial sockets as well as to public charging stations and is ideal for cross-border journeys.

In addition, many other practical features – from cup holder inserts to protective films and mud flaps – are also available and can be ordered as accessories from your local Opel dealer. This means that every journey in the Astra Sports Tourer Electric becomes a relaxed, pleasant part of the holiday right from the start – no matter what the destination.
