EES has been known for over 40 years as a manufacturer of reliable and innovative fault indication technology.

In this context, the display modules are the simplest form of status indication. In 2023, EES will launch a new generation of the proven LAB series, where LAB stands for LED display module. The new generation turns the previously available variants upside down and concentrates them in one display module. Therefore the number of different sizes increases, which are now not only available in 8 or 16 channels, but also in 24, 32, 40 and 48 signal inputs. In the future, there will be only one variant per number of signal inputs, which greatly simplifies and optimizes the ordering process, stock-keeping and usability.

The LED display is the distinctive feature of the indication module, and the LED colors can still be changed by the customer. There are 6 colors available, so the exchange of single LEDs or whole rows can be done quickly according to the application.
The LED colors are colored via lightpipes and can be purchased as accessories.
Another new feature is that each LAB 2.0 contains a signal relay that can be used as a collective signal to advance technology. It can be set group-wise whether an activation of the alarm is supposed to take place on the collective alarm relay. Likewise an inversion of the relay can take place and the alarm inputs can also be switched over between normally and normally closed principle. The settings are made via a DIP switch.

An integrated push button and external function input for the lamp test complete the range of functions.

The power supply of the device is done by a wide range power supply which is suitable for the voltage range between 24V – 230V AC and DC. The signal inputs are also activated by a wide range power supply, which is also between 24-230V AC and DC.
Narrower signaling thresholds can also be obtained as an option on a customer-specific basis.
Another new feature is that the signal wiring is done via plug-in screw terminals, which simplifies the installation.

During development, EES also focused on energy consumption. In total, the power consumption with 48 illuminated LEDs and activated signal relays is only approx. 1 watt.
The protection class of the device is now IP54 as a standard, so that no additional hood is required to achieve a higher degree of protection.

In summary, EES hereby offers the maximization of the classic indication module with 96mm in height, available in 96mm width for 8 or 16 inputs, 192mm for 24 or 32 inputs and finally in 287mm width for 40 or 48 inputs. All features are on board as standard and can be customized in the easiest way. List prices could also be optimized for the new LAB 2.0 due to fully automated manufacturing. Available from July 2023.

Über die EES Elektra Elektronik GmbH & Co. Störcontroller KG

EES is a medium-sized company with around 50 employees and a specialist in the automation industry for fault indication and telecontrol technology.

EES is highly customer-specific. EES annunciator and alarm processing systems monitor electrical switchgear worldwide, especially in the field of power generation and distribution. The fault indication range can process all standardized and customer-specific functional sequences in the voltage level between 12 and 250 V DC or AC supply and signal voltages. Furthermore, it is possible to connect the devices via the IEC 61850 station bus.

EES telecontrol technology records and transmits signals, commands, measured values, counting pulses with pre-processing, as point-to-point connection or via complete networks via almost all transmission media. Process control systems can be connected via serial or Ethernet interfaces such as IEC60870-5-101 to -104 -Profibus DP -Modbus RTU / -IP. EES is a partner of planners, plant constructors and operators of power, gas and water supply, as well as waste water plants, process and process engineering and in traffic engineering. More than 10,000 customers worldwide trust our know-how.
