The RapidPick™ systems offer space for one source and one target plate. Petri dishes, Nunc™ OmniTray™ or any other plate in SLAS/ANSI format can be selected as source plate. Possible destination plate formats are all standard and deep-well plates in SLAS/ANSI format with well depths up to 30 mm. The pins of the systems can also pick through agar.
For identification of colonies the user can choose visual parameters such as radius, amplitude, elongation, conformity, separation and colour. There is no limit in the number of parameters to choose from and they can easily be verified by the internal camera of the system.
The compact RapidPick™ systems can be placed in most anaerobic chambers. Available from Dunn Labortechnik are the Bactron® anaerobic chambers from Sheldon Manufacturing. These not only provide a suitable work space and anaerobic working environment for the actual picking process but also enable the anaerobic cultivation of the selected microorganisms in the integrated plate incubator.
RapidPick™ Colony Pickers can interact with other Hudson Robotics´ devices as for instance the SOLO™ Liquid Handler and/or robotic arms such as the PlateCrane™. For more automated workflows and complete processes, Hudson Robotics offers additional systems such as the RapidPick™ Lite, RapidPick™ Complete and RapidPick™ Harvester.
