• It will increase from three to seven frequencies.
• It will be carried out in two phases, starting March 27, 2023.
• By June 2023, the airline will offer 28 weekly flights from the Spanish capital to Mexico City.
Aeromexico reinforces its ongoing commitment to connect Mexico with the world. Starting March 27, the airline will increase from three to five frequencies from Madrid to Monterrey and Guadalajara, and will then increase to one daily flight starting June 1, due to the success of both routes.
Aeromexico currently connects Spain and Mexico with 20 weekly flights to Mexico City, Guadalajara and Monterrey. By June 2023, there will be 28 weekly flights from the Spanish capital to these three Mexican cities.
By the middle of next year, Aeromexico’s offer on the European continent will increase by more than 20% compared to the summer of 2022, operating 54 weekly frequencies between Europe and Mexico with its routes to Amsterdan, London, Madrid, Paris and Rome. This is the largest operation in Aeromexico’s history between the two territories, flying with the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, the safest, most modern, efficient and environmentally friendly aircraft available.
Sonia Oliveras, Aeromexico’s Country Manager Spain said: "The Spanish market is experiencing a significant increase in demand to Mexico. The airline is responding to it very quickly, increasing its capacity to the destination; this indicates the company’s firm commitment to Spain and its connectivity with Mexico."
Aeromexico first landed in Madrid in April 1963 aboard a majestic Douglas DC-8 with a stopover in the United States and has flown non-stop ever since.
Mexico is one of the five most important countries in the tourism sector worldwide, having received almost 32 million visitors in the last year. It is renowned for its beaches, colonial cities, gastronomy and cultural wealth.
The increase in frequencies between Madrid and Mexico is a reflection of the airline’s commitment to offer the best air connectivity network, which by March 2023 will exceed 100 domestic and international routes, operating under the highest safety and service standards in the industry.
Aeromexico thanks the authorities and airports of Mexico and Spain for the support granted to realize this increase in frequencies, which will benefit the connectivity of each city with very relevant destinations in the world.
