ALLPLAN, one of the leading providers of BIM solutions for the AEC industry, is once again underlining its commitment to sustainable IT solutions. As part of the long-standing partnership with AfB social & green IT, a total of 579 discarded IT and mobile devices were processed in an environmentally friendly manner from January 1, 2022 to July 19, 2024. This benefited both the environment and social causes. 69% of the devices could be remarketed after secure data destruction and technical refurbishment, while the remaining devices were professionally recycled.

The results of this sustainable collaboration have now been presented to ALLPLAN in the form of an impact certificate. The partnership resulted in impressive savings over the period mentioned, including the reduction of 63,841 kWh of energy, the saving of 245,913 liters of water and the avoidance of 491,528 kg of CO₂ emissions. The award confirms ALLPLAN’s ongoing commitment to creating a sustainable IT landscape and maximizing the useful life of hardware. The use of remanufactured technology is a decisive step towards minimizing the ecological footprint and protecting the environment.

"We are proud of this renewed recognition of our efforts in the area of green IT," says Markus Gallenberger, Chief Marketing and Sales Enablement Officer at ALLPLAN. "The cooperation with AfB clearly shows how important the conscious use of IT hardware is. We will continue to focus on sustainable solutions in the future in order to further reduce our ecological footprint."

AfB social & green IT is Europe’s largest non-profit IT company specializing in the refurbishment and remarketing of used IT hardware. By working with companies such as ALLPLAN, AfB helps to extend the life cycle of IT equipment and reduce electronic waste.
