The spotlight is on the structural adhesive Dymax 9501-F for the assembly of electric vehicle batteries. This extremely low-shrinkage UV adhesive was specially developed for securing cylindrical battery cells to plastic bases and holders, and it has excellent adhesion to common substrates such as PC, PC/ABS, nickel-plated steel, and aluminum. Its short curing time allows assembled components to be quickly processed on the production line, increasing throughput capacity and reducing overall manufacturing and labor costs. Additionally, Dymax 9501-F proves to be very reliable in the typical testing procedures for electric vehicles, such as high temperatures, high humidity, and temperature shocks.
Dymax will also showcase a variety of light-curable adhesive and coating solutions, such as the moisture and chemical-resistant sealing and encapsulating material Dymax GA-140, as well as Dymax 9014, which is particularly suitable for potting wire connections or encapsulating elements of circuit boards and today’s high-performance batteries.
The MIL-I-46058 approved protective coating Dymax 9483, with a secondary curing option through ambient humidity, will also be presented at the European Battery Show. The major advantage of this material lies in its excellent resistance to heat, chemicals, and corrosion. Therefore, it is particularly suitable for the protective coating of rigid and flexible printed circuit boards, sensors, and control modules.
Battery manufacturers and engineers can also learn about the latest UV/broadband and LED curing equipment, including the powerful LED spot curing system Dymax BlueWave® QX4 V2.0 and the newly developed, high-intensity LED flood curing system Dymax BlueWave® FX-1250. Our application engineering experts will be on-site to answer questions about Dymax’s light-curable materials and curing systems, discuss battery applications in detail, and offer demonstrations of our products and technologies.
