Electromobility is now one of the most important pillars of the Bavarian mechanical engineering company GROB, so it makes sense to present products from this area to visitors to this year’s in-house exhibition.

From April 16 to 19, visitors to GROB’s in-house exhibition will be able to see a Generation 3.0 hairpin bending machine up close. Stator production using hairpin technology is state-of-the-art for traction motors and is based on an innovative and flexible bending concept at GROB. All the pin varinates required for a complete hairpin stator can be produced with a single bending machine, resulting in remarkable efficiency. Overall, stator production with hairpin technology offers an optimum solution for the complex requirements of electric motor production and promises high quality and efficiency in production.

Since entering the field of electromobility in 2016, GROB has gradually expanded its product portfolio and expertise in this area. As GROB’s machining systems also largely produce workpieces for e-mobility, this division now accounts for almost 60% of the company’s output. The company offers a wide range of technologies in the field of electromobility. In the area of stator production, for example, it offers continuous hairpin technology, hairpin technology and inserting technology. GROB also offers various technologies in the rotor area, including needle winding and permanent magnet technology. With its global production plants and technical application centers for electromobility, the company offers its customers comprehensive support right from the quotation phase. "We attach great importance to providing our customers with comprehensive support right from the quotation phase. Our customers should feel that they are in good hands and receive the best technological advice. That’s what we stand for on the market, products made in Germany, and it starts from the very first customer contact," emphasizes Johannes Jung, Head of Key Account Management E-Mobility at GROB.

3D LED wall provides visitors with in-depth insights

As part of the in-house exhibition, visitors will have the opportunity for the first time to virtually experience various GROB e-mobility systems and projects at a 3D LED wall. "It is important to us to bring our technologies closer to visitors and interested parties. What better way to do this than to bring our projects to life virtually with a 3D LED wall," says Johannes Jung. In addition to the 3D LED wall, key account managers from the field of electromobility will of course also be available to answer visitors‘ questions and concerns.

Battery technology continues to gain ground

In addition to systems for stator and rotor production, GROB continues to focus on battery technology. GROB has been successfully developing and selling systems for the production of battery cells, modules and packs for several years. Cell-to-pack assembly is now a brand new addition to GROB’s portfolio. With this technology, the intermediate step from the cell to the battery pack is skipped, so to speak. This means that the battery cells are integrated directly into the battery pack. The Bavarian machine manufacturer is thus once again underlining its pioneering role in the field of electromobility.

Visitors who have not had enough of GROB’s electromobility products after the in-house exhibition can already look forward to further exhibition highlights. The machine manufacturer will be represented at CWIEME in Berlin in May and immediately afterwards at the Battery Show in Stuttgart in mid-June.
