Researchers have generated more energy with fusion than ever before.

A new world record has been set by researchers in the UK. Generating more energy than is consumed could solve many energy problems in the future. But despite the success of the Joint European Torus nuclear fusion plant, there is still a long way to go. 0.2 milligrams of fuel were obtained from 69 megajoules of energy. Even though the amount of energy produced was greater than ever before, in the end around three times as much energy was consumed as was produced. Generating energy from nuclear fusion is a difficult undertaking. Similar to other power plants, the aim would be to heat water in the fusion power plant and thus drive a turbine.

But for the time being, energy still has to be generated conventionally. In Germany, for example, around 53% of electricity was generated from renewable energies in 2023. Natural gas and lignite accounted for 16 and 17 percent respectively. Around 12% came from photovoltaic technology and 27% from wind energy. Overall, two thirds of electricity in the EU was generated from so-called clean sources for the first time. The use of storage systems in particular will contribute to an increase in renewable energies. These storage facilities require raw materials such as lithium, cobalt and nickel. Nuclear energy, which is enjoying increasing acceptance in many countries, is also part of the energy mix. It is no wonder that the price of uranium has reached enormous heights and, according to experts, will continue to rise.

This development is encouraging for Green Shift Commoditieshttps://www.commodity-tv.com/ondemand/companies/profil/green-shift-commodities-ltd/ -, for example. This company owns nickel, uranium, lithium, vanadium, neodymium and phosphorus in its projects (Argentina, Colombia, Ontario).

Cosa Resourceshttps://www.commodity-tv.com/ondemand/companies/profil/uranium-energy-corp/ – specializes in uranium. Cosa Resources has promising uranium projects in the Athabasca Basin in Saskatchewan.
