In his welcome speech, Dr Busch gave a brief history of the company and emphasized how important it had always been to him and his wife to listen to their employees. “We could not have made our business success without you. Thank you for coming and thank you for building up Busch with us,” he said and Ayhan Busch added: “Thank you for being here. Without you we couldn’t have done this.”
Kaya Busch thanked all the people who helped organize the event and highlighted: “We want to thank all our employees for the contribution they did over the last 60 years to build this company”.
The Freiburg-based power percussion group “Brasilikum” swept the crowd away with groovy and funky drum beats from the world’s largest carnival in Salvador da Bahia.
A particular highlight was the 40-meter-high Ferris wheel. With 30 gondolas, up to 180 visitors at a time could marvel over the fantastic view of the Wiesental and the Black Forest. The children enjoyed a carousel, a bouncy castle and a popcorn machine.
In the party tent, a slide show displayed the 60-year history of our company in pictures. A photo booth allowed visitors to capture the special moment in a beautiful, memorable photo.
The Mercedes, which Dr Karl Busch and his sons Sami and Kaya Busch drove during the 2000 classic car rally “Around the World in 80 Days”, was also exhibited at the festival grounds. In total, they collected 140,000 German Marks for Doctors Without Borders.
Many visitors took the opportunity to get to know the production site in Maulburg through company tours. They participated in lively discussions and asked interesting questions.
