How is sensory training performed in most companies up to now? For most people involved in sensory research today, the ideal is not just to train your sensory panel on the finished product, intermediate products or raw materials. Instead, additional courses are held with solutions of specific flavor compounds adapted to the individual sensory qualities of the company´s products. This helps a panel to develop a common “sensory language” and to describe odor impressions or off-flavors in a standardized way.

Unless the company is able to produce solutions of the desired flavorings itself, the solutions are purchased from a suitable supplier. Typically, these are concentrated solutions which need to be diluted or prepared in a specific way according to the instructions that come with them. aromaLAB has been offering such solutions to its customers for years, using our extensive sensory knowledge to choose the most suitable flavor compounds for each product from more than 600 components we have on stock.

This wide-ranging individual offer will of course remain in place, but we would like to make it even more comfortable for our clients to carry out sensory training courses. That´s why we are now offering our flavorings for sensory training in the form of “flavor sticks”, making the handling even easier, safer and cleaner. Looking like an ordinary permanent marker with its cap on from the outside, these sticks are not intended for writing, but for sniffing. You simply pull off the cap and smell the tip, which is soaked in a solution of the desired flavoring. No preparation is required, nothing can be spilled and the sticks can be reused, while prepared solutions usually have to be discarded after use. In addition, the sticks can easily be sent or taken on trips without any special precautions.

Just like with the conventional sensory solutions, we can adapt the sensory sticks individually to the needs of our customers and select the right compounds from our large stock of flavor components. We would be happy to support your sensory trainings with this practical and useful novelty in our portfolio. For further information go to www.aromalab.de or contact us via phone or mail.
