• Demonstration of trinamiX Consumer Spectroscopy and trinamiX Face Authentication to smartphone manufacturers from June 28-30 in hall N2, booth B94
  • Spectroscopy demo shows non-invasive biomarker measurement for novel consumer health applications
  • Secure, invisible face authentication in novel automotive solutions with partners Continental and Antolin

trinamiX GmbH, a leader in biometric and infrared sensing solutions, envisions a future of smartphones with features that have been deemed impossible: Smartphones equipped with trinamiX Consumer Spectroscopy – a built-in near-infrared spectrometer that grants molecular insights into the body. For Mobile World Congress (MWC) Shanghai, taking place from June 28-30, 2023, trinamiX invites manufacturers of consumer electronics devices in Asia Pacific to experience both a demo of their spectroscopy solution as well as of their under-display face authentication solution.

trinamiX is going to debut at MWC Shanghai for the first public presentation of their consumer solutions to the Asia Pacific market – a market that has grown to be one of the most vibrant and advanced markets for mobile and digital technologies. Both solutions, trinamiX Face Authentication and trinamiX Consumer Spectroscopy, were created for integration by Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) into commercially available mobile devices, particularly smartphones.

Individual biomarker measurement is on the way

trinamiX Consumer Spectroscopy is based on a unique sensor module that can be built right into the smartphone, ultimately allowing consumers to perform individual measurements by placing the smartphone on their skin. By means of near-infrared (NIR) spectroscopy and smart algorithms, this sensor allows to measure so-called biomarkers indicating different aspects of a person’s health condition. Users can receive tailor-made recommendations in real time based on their own measurements.

“trinamiX has succeeded in making NIR spectroscopy smaller than anyone ever has,” said Stefan Metz, Director Consumer Electronics APAC and Head of trinamiX Asia. “And we have the deep analytical expertise to introduce new applications, granting insights into the body that users have not yet been able to gain themselves.” At MWC, trinamiX will present a demonstrator that operates on a smartphone-like system environment to showcase the integrability and functionality of the sensor module. “Our exemplary biomarker use case invites visitors to measure their body’s current hydration level by scanning their finger or forearm with it,” Metz adds.

First invisible and secure face authentication

Following up on its premiere at MWC Barcelona in February, trinamiX is also taking their face authentication solution running on a smartphone reference design to Shanghai. It is the first to allow for the combination of two essential key benefits: On the one hand, trinamiX Face Authentication is certified to offer smartphone users the highest biometric security to protect their data against fraud and leaks. On the other hand, thanks to trinamiX’s unique algorithms it also operates from underneath the display, thus allowing smartphone manufacturers to maximize the screen-to-body ratio. The solution comes with both a  sensor head for invisible integration into various consumer electronics and trinamiX’s innovative authentication software.

Collaboration with leading automotive suppliers

trinamiX has tailored their face authentication solution to the specific needs of automotive manufacturers to unlock new vehicle access and in-cabin sensing applications. The company is working with the tier 1 suppliers Continental and Antolin to present the automotive industry with innovative, integrable vehicle solutions. The Driver Identification Display for in-cabin integration was developed with Continental to allow for touchless and secure driver authentication when starting the vehicle and authorizing digital payments via the display. The Vehicle Access System that trinamiX is jointly presenting with Antolin was designed for seamless integration into the exterior B-pillar, from where it allows for a keyless access to the car and protection against theft.

While MWC Shanghai invites customers from Asia Pacific and the world to experience the latest mobile tech in China, there will also be a chance to experience trinamiX’s solutions in Europe: From June 27-30, 2023, visitors of LASER World of PHOTONICS in Munich can meet trinamiX at booth 520 in hall A3.
