- ADAC Rallye Sulingen marks the opening of the 2023 ADAC Opel Electric Rally Cup “powered by GSe” season
- Teams from seven nations compete in eight exciting races
- Three all-female crews enhance the world’s first electric one-make rally cup
Thanks to an international field of participants and a spectacular race calendar, the ADAC Opel Electric Rally Cup "powered by GSe" has become even more attractive this year. Teams from seven nations will compete in the third season of the world’s first electric one-make rally cup. The season will start will on May 5 and 6 at the ADAC Actronics Rallye in Sulingen. And no fewer than three of the 100 kW/136 hp Opel Corsa Rally Electric will be driven by all-female crews!
This season, the Romanian duo of Cristiana Oprea/Alexia Parteni, who already participated last year, will be joined by two French crews who will compete as part of the FFSA Academy, a sponsorship programme of the French Automobile Sports Federation.
Sarah Rumeau (28) celebrated her second title in the ladies‘ classification of the French Rally Championship last season. Her co-pilot is Julie Amblard. Cindy Gudet will be behind the wheel of the second Corsa Rally Electric in FFSA colours. The 27-year-old has already made a name for herself as a mountain racer. Five French championship titles speak for themselves. The rally newcomer will be joined by experienced co-driver Cécile Marie.
Among the other teams, Germans Max Reiter (23, Dillingen), Joe Baur (24, Renchen) and Christian Lemke (22, Martfeld) as well as Swede Calle Carlberg (22), Austrian Luca Pröglhöf (23) and Dutchman Jari van Hoof (20) have all already gathered cup experience and are therefore undoubtedly among the favourites. The veterans face strong competition from newcomers Johannes Wittenbeck (24, Emmering) as well as Terence Callea (26, France), Anthony Rott (23, France), David-Efraim Tarta (21, Romania) and Armiche Mendoza Silva (21, Spain).
The ADAC Opel Electric Rally Cup 2023 consists of eight demanding events. Three races will take part in Germany as part of the German Rally Championship with further events in France (Rallye du Vosges Grand-Est and Rallye Mont-Blanc, Morzine), Austria (Rallye Weiz) and for the first time also in Switzerland (Rallye du Chablais) completing the race calendar. The highlight of the season is the finale at the Central European Rally in October, where for the first time, participants of an electric rally cup will compete as part of the FIA World Rally Championship.
