A sustainable and traceable raw material sector 
The DMT GROUP event will present key elements and projects that show how traceability and sustainability can be established and guaranteed. A total of nine speakers from business, industry, and science will address topics from the mineral resources sector in a practiceoriented manner.

The spectrum ranges from challenges in the international commodity supply chain to sustainability in the mining sector from large-scale operations to artisan-scale mining. This will be followed by a presentation on the sustainability requirements of rare earth elements, to possibilities of digital certificates and initiatives as well as their implementation in the Digital Product Passport, and furthermore, a reporting guidance for the battery passport. Rounding off the program is a presentation on a benchmark comparing the most important sustainability standard systems for mineral resources. A special focus is on TÜV NORD CERA 4in1, a certification system that will authenticate sustainability in the raw materials sector. CERA 4in1 is the first certification system across the complete raw material value chain that is applicable for every mineral, companies of all sizes, and everywhere in the world.

The speakers are delegates from renowned, international organizations and companies such as Germany’s Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources (BGR), Brain Cloud Networx, Leiden University, Sud South, Systemiq, Spherity, TÜV NORD CERT, TU Bergakademie Freiberg and Volkswagen (VW).

Numerous events on and offline
The EU Raw Materials Week will take place from 14 to 18 November 2022 at the Le Plaza Hotel in Brussels and online. It is part of the framework for the Conference of the European Innovation Partnership (EIP) with various side events on current developments in the European raw materials sector. These also include the DMT GROUP event, which is aimed at all relevant stakeholders from business, politics, and society, as well as representatives of science and NGOs.

The EU Raw Materials Week will also include the 14th Conference on Critical Materials and Minerals and the EU Critical Raw Materials Event, an event on the UN Framework Classification for Resources and the United Nations Resource Management System, as well as other events organised by the Health and Digital Executive Agency (HaDEA), EIT Raw Materials, SUMEX and the Joint Research Centre, among others.
