FORT FUN Abenteuerland, the leisure park near Bestwig in the Sauerland region, is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year but the biggest gift for its visitors is still to be opened: From season 2023 the guests will be able to literally dive into the world of YAKARI and his friends. YAKARI, the little boy of the Sioux tribe, is well known in Germany via both, the like-named successful comic show on Kika and the first YAKARI cine movie from 2020. FORT FUN Managing Director, Andreas Sievering, is excited about the park’s newest addition, stating, “Being able to take our guests into YAKARI’s world from 2023 on is very special for us.” He promises, “YAKARI and FORT FUN fit together perfectly. YAKARI’s messages of living in unison with nature, taking care of friends, striving for more solidarity between humans and treating animals respectfully correspond to our attitude as a cosmopolitan leisure and family park seated right within our beautiful nature. Our guests can expect a wonderful symbiosis of the typical nature of the Sauerland area and the world of YAKARI.” In terms of design the leisure park has an eye on using mainly natural materials. Moreover, a photo-voltaic unit is planned to energize the new attractions. Visitors and families with children, in particular, can look forward to three exciting YAKARI adventures. Moreover, within the next two years, two additional expansions with further highlights are planned. In total YAKARI’s plains will reach a size of 10.000 square meters. Also, additional measures are planned in order to use natural resources responsibly.
“YAKARI’s adventures are a big and important step for the further development of our park,” Sievering explains. “With this we will also increase our capacity and herewith react on our success of the last years.”
Which exact attractions visitors can expect, the team of FORT FUN does not want to reveal yet. As Marketing Manager, Dijamant Neziraj, explains, “From September on we will little by little present our guests and fans more and more information and facts about the new area as well as the working progress on the construction zone through our social media channels and our website FORTFUN.de/YAKARI. We would like to involve them in this exciting project without stealing the tension.” “But so much can be revealed already,” Andreas Sievering adds, “the great story of the brave hero YAKARI will become alive at FORT FUN.”
FORT FUN Abenteuerland has been around for 50 years now. Attractive to visitors are not only the extraordinary rides, which are constantly being tested to the highest safety standards.
