Applications are now being accepted for apprenticeships in 2022 at the steel partners Dillinger and Saarstahl. In line with the motto “Steel diversity for life” (in German: “Stahlbunt fürs Leben”) the companies offer young people state-of-the-art training with strong prospects for the future. Career starters can choose between a total of 18 technical/trade and commercial professions and train to become “steel icons”.

Exciting jobs in a dynamic environment
Saarstahl and Dillinger have been relying on their own pool of young skilled workers for many years and generally employ their trainees after they have successfully completed their apprenticeships. For the steel partners, the skilled workers of tomorrow are the key to ensuring a successful transformation to carbon-neutral steel production as well as success in the area of digitalization and Industry 4.0. Those who complete the training to become industrial mechanics, electronics technicians, mechatronics technicians and process engineers will, for example, actively support implementation of new technologies and work on the new plants.

In addition to training at the highest technical level, the steel partners offer their apprentices additional qualifications in the field of Industry 4.0, including programming, IT security and additive manufacturing. In additive manufacturing, for example, three-dimensional prototypes and components are designed on the computer and manufactured on site on the 3D printers. The additional qualifications conclude with an examination by the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK).

Curious about the daily work routine as a “steel icon”?
Dillinger and Saarstahl will open their training centers for an open house on 27 November (Dillingen) and 4 December (Völklingen). On these days, interested pupils have the chance to form their own impression of the companies and the people who work there. Young people searching for the right career prospects will get answers to all their questions during discussions with the dedicated team of trainers and with current apprentices. The discussions might even reveal which steel icon a young person is destined to become.

About our training: Fit for the future with “Steel diversity for life”
In line with the motto “Steel diversity for life,” Saarstahl and Dillinger provide needs-based training and generally hire their own apprentices after successful completion of their training. In addition to qualifications in the field of Industry 4.0, the tools for a successful professional career also include soft skills such as the ability to work in a team and collaborative spirit, which are a special focus in “Steel diversity for life.”
