Managing Director Reinhard Löhner is looking forward to presenting the new motorhomes to you at the Knaus Tabbert Group press conference on 27th of August – particularly the latest news on the newly planned plant 2.
NEW PLANT 2 IN SCHLÜSSELFELD
MORELO EXPANDS PRODUCTION TO MEET RISING DEMAND
Curtains up … for three new models – and a new factory! The luxury motorhome manufacturer MORELO expands its product range having three strong vehicle debuts at the Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf, two of them within the ranges up to 7.5 tonnes total weight. The Upper Franconians are also pushing the pace in terms of production and sales. After the ground-breaking ceremony at the occasion of the significant expansion of both the existing plant and showroom at the company’s headquarters, the starting shot will be given in autumn for a completely new production line on the premises in Schlüsselfeld near Bamberg – another milestone in the MORELO success story.
During the last 10 years, MORELO has positioned itself as a top supplier in the luxury motorhome market segment and is now leader in the luxury segment. Due to the continuous growth the Upper Franconians have in the meantime almost reached their capacity limits. Therefore, a new floor space of 12,540 m² will be created in 3 building stages.
From manufacture to European market leader.
"With the plant expansion, we are taking the next big step into the future", says Robert Crispens, Managing Director of MORELO Reisemobile GmbH. "The new plant 2 as well as the significant expansion of plant 1 and the vehicle showroom area – all of this is the base for being able to grow further organically and at the same time to consider the first-class wishes of our customers even better, more individually and faster".
As an employee from the very beginning and a number-crunching genius, the now 35-year-old has been involved in the development of the brand from a manufacture to the European market leader over the past 11 years from scratch and at the same time pushed it ahead. As he practically knows all of MORELO’s key figures inside out, he also sees MORELO in a "first-class" position in the medium term.
Doubling of capacity possible in the medium term.
The new plant 2 north of the MORELO premises, which is within sight of the motorway A3, comprises a second production line, a second panel production, plus design and development including prototype building, a warehouse, a canteen and a second employee car park for around 160 cars. The new construction of plant 2 and the expansion of plant 1 will increase MORELO’s production capacity to over 1,000 units per year in the medium term. This corresponds to a doubling of the current capacity. The number of employees at MORELO will also grow in a considerable way in parallel from currently 400 to approximately 550 employees.
