When managing a large number of IoT applications, it is often difficult to determine whether a component is online or offline. The devices are often installed in locations that are physically difficult to access, e.g. in digital signage applications so that they cannot be repaired or updated in the field. According to Gartner Inc., analyzes, downtime, and maintenance account for nearly 80% of IT costs.

The new edge computers PE200U and PE200S from ASUS have a dual remote management solution based on the ASUS IoT Cloud Console and Innodisk InnoAGE™  SSD. This significantly improves reliability, as IoT downtimes and the associated cost overruns are avoided through secure out-of-band signaling.

With the IoT Cloud Console (AICC), ASUS offers a unified platform that enables the management and analysis of big data collected by IoT devices with different operating systems. With an intuitive user interface and advanced data encryption technology, AICC enables users to collect and analyze extensive information in a wide variety of smart technology applications such as transportation, retail, and agricultural technology. This enables in-band management without downtime or cost overruns.

The InnoAGE™ SSD from Innodisk is an SSD storage solution with integrated Microsoft Azure Sphere. The specific Innodisk firmware, software, and hardware technologies are also integrated. This means that secure, multifunctional management, intelligent data analysis, and data updating, as well as data security and remote control via the cloud, are possible at any time, thus guaranteeing secure communication between the SSD and the cloud. The InnoAGE™  SSD was developed for both in-band and out-of-band network management. This enables the system operator to quickly return to the standard settings via the cloud-based dashboard and completely restore the system, even in the event of a total device or system crash. On-site maintenance is not necessary.

"With the intelligent InnoAGE™  SSD from Innodisk and the leading IoT technology from ASUS, we are bringing the future of IoT to customers worldwide," said Randy Chien, President of Innodisk. "The partnership between ASUS and Innodisk is a significant step forward for edge computing," said Jackie Hsu, senior vice president and co-head of ASUS ‚Open Platform and AIoT business groups. "The power and flexibility of the ASUS IoT Cloud Console combined with InnoAGE™ ’s out-of-band management capabilities make maintaining a reliable AIoT infrastructure easier than before."
