Focus on high-speed applications
On the EcoPower Xpress 300 in Meinerzhagen, a thin-walled application is demonstrated. With a cycle time below 4 seconds, a margarine tub is manufactured in a 4-cavity mold, demolded and stacked. The production cell consists of the all-electric high-speed machine EcoPower Xpress and an integrated SONIC robot 131 optimized for this cycle. With its optimized gripper, the robot achieves a removal time below one second. With its unique electric drive concept and highly dynamic movements, the machine stands out by its extreme quietness and energy efficiency. This means conservation of resources as well as protection of the mold and the components of the production cell.
Ingrinder cell – conservation of resources with intelligent HiQ Flow® assistance system
The compact Ingrinder cell located in the Nuremberg technical lab shows a sustainable in-cycle recycling application, which has been realized jointly with the partners Schicktanz GmbH and Kunststoffschmiede Dresden (Plastic Forge Dresden). As an integral part of the innovative cell, the HiQ Flow® assistance tool ensures consistent finished part weights and thus improves process stability. The cell consists of a SmartPower 60/210, a WITTMANN WP50 sprue picker, a G-Max 9 granulator and a FEEDMAX S3 vacuum conveyor.
WITTMANN 4.0 – integrated process monitoring “Everything at a glance”
WITTMANN 4.0 supports fast exchange and extension of appliances through “Plug and Produce”. The alarm analysis of all auxiliary appliances is shown in the machine’s control system. In this way, users can view the entire production cell at a glance. This technology is demonstrated in Meinerzhagen on a SmartPower 1230/525 with a W918 robot and integrated auxiliaries.
CELLMOULD® – physical foaming – lightweight expertise from WITTMANN BATTENFELD
The CELLMOULD® technology from WITTMANN BATTENFELD serves the production of plastic lightweight elements with high dimensional stability and good mechanical properties. In addition to material savings and consequently lighter components, CELLMOULD® enables a reduction in clamping force and cycle time. The CELLMOULD® technology is shown in the technical lab in Meinerzhagen on a SmartPower 240/1330.
AIRMOULD® – gas injection technology – proven and reliable
AIRMOULD® is a proven and reliable process to produce controlled cavities inside injection-molded articles. Thus AIRMOULD® technology contributes to obtaining lighter parts and enables shorter cycle times and lower energy consumption as well. In Meinerzhagen, coat-hangers are manufactured on a SmartPower 240/1330 with AIRMOULD® technology for demonstration purposes.
Easy cells
The EASY production cell can be viewed in Nuremberg. Depending on the application, the best-practice proven PRIMUS 14 & 16 robots are used to deposit the parts on a conveyor belt.
Utilizing the smaller footprint of modern injection molding machines, the open areas between existing injection molding machines remain in place. The cell is equipped with an access gate for easy troubleshooting.
